Bethesda's game continues to unfold years after its release.
Bethesda returned to Starfield in April and introduced a major Free Lanes update. Some players were very pleased with the changes.
The game has an "autopilot" - you can turn on a special mode that allows you to travel through star systems without having to use the fast travel mechanic.
RealDakJackal shared his impressions of the Starfield update:
Now that you can just fly around star systems instead of using fast travel, the game feels a lot less routine and more fun. Random encounters are great. You can turn on autopilot, step away from the helm, talk to the crew, do game stuff, or even do the dishes. Points of interest seem to be better, although I mostly spend my time in space unless I need ammo. [Starfield] is starting to feel like that Bethesda game, and it's nice to be back in it. Overall, the game experience has improved significantly. Great job, Bethesda.
Another player with the nickname Poopscoop231 returned to Starfield in "New Game +" mode. After replaying the The Old Neighborhood quest, he stated that it was an "amazing" gaming experience - he didn't even have to open a single menu.
In addition, in the accessibility settings, you can now enable the [Always Show Landing Camera] option - the landing animation will play every time you land - this is also very cool. Minus one mod to download.
However, Starfield's reviews on Steam are still "mixed" - not all players were impressed with the Free Lanes update.
